British fighter who suffered horrific injury to return against former world champion in America

Robbie Davies Jr will fight for the first time in over a year when he travels to America next month for what looks like a superb opportunity.  

The Liverpool man will take on Sergey Lipinets, a former world champion, in Florida and victory could be the platform for bigger fights. 

In March 2023, Davies Jr was beaten by Darragh Foley in a huge upset after he sustained a nasty injury to his ankle and was unable to recover.  

The road back for Davies Jr has been a long one, but he’ll be hoping that a good showing against Lipinets can open the door for bigger chances. 

Davies Jr will have Anthony Crolla in his corner for the first time after recently splitting with Shane McGuigan.  

Crolla has enjoyed some success in his brief run as a trainer and he’ll be hoping he can help reverse Davies Jr’s recent fortunes.
