Paul Dickov praises Arsenal for one major characteristic in Premier League title chase

Former Arsenal and Manchester City player Paul Dickov has lauded the way the Gunners have bounced back from last season's disappointing finish to once again put themselves in the Premier League title conversation.

The North London side are atop the standings and lead City by a point, but Pep Guardiola's men have a game in hand and would guarantee themselves another league crown if they win the remainder of their matches.

Regardless, Dickov has commended Arsenal for the way they've played. Speaking to OLBG, the former Scotland international noted that Mikel Arteta's side could have easily folded again at certain points this season but kept finding ways to win.

"It’s out of their hands but they've put themselves in a good position to be at least challenging, after the disappointment of last season and now they are applying the pressure," he said.

Dickov added that the main factor behind Arsenal's success has been the uniformity of their play from one game to the next, also noting that their responsibility in their own half is also a big contributing element. 

However, he thinks the mountain may still be too tall for the Gunners to climb this season.

“They've shown consistency throughout the whole season and they have been exceptional defensively but the pressure still mounts, and not just for Arsenal, for Liverpool and even Man City," he said. 

"The teams that win trophies are those which perform best under pressure, so with that in mind, Man City have got to be the favourites to win the league now.”
