Gabby Agbonlahor gives his verdict on Marcus Rashford going to Euro 2024 with England

Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Marcus Rashford should be on the plane for Euro 2024.

Rashford scored 30 goals last season in his first campaign with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, but is yet to break double figures this year.

There are rumours that he is unsettled at the club, and recent reports suggested that new co-owner Jim Ratcliffe is willing to listen to offers for most players at Old Trafford, Rashford included.

Speaking to Razed.com, Agbonlahor accepts his form is poor, but thinks England’s forward line is lacking pace - something that Rashford can provide.

He said: “The problem England has is, they don’t have pace. If you look at Marcus Rashford, he is the fastest attacker we have got and it’s a different option.

“Do you want to take Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen, and Ivan Toney without Rashford?

“While they are outstanding players, they haven’t got the speed of Marcus Rashford. He always performs for England, and he should be in the 26-man squad because he’s got what they haven’t got, that ridiculous pace that can change a game.

“Does he deserve to with his Premier League form? Probably not but with the experience and the X-Factor he has with it, he should go.”
