Champions League winner says Liverpool's one-trophy season 'a disaster' ahead of Jurgen Klopp departure

The speed at which Liverpool's season went from boom to relative bust is something of a surprise to Dwight Yorke.

The three-time Premier League winner expressed bemusement at how the Reds have gone from competing in several competitions to likely just winning one trophy in Jurgen Klopp's final season, as Liverpool have fallen to third in the Premier League title race and were eliminated from the FA Cup and Europa League knockout stages in the space of a month.

Speaking to Crypto Casino LTD, Yorke declared Klopp's farewell season 'a disaster' even though it is still underway.

"A month ago, Liverpool were going to win the quadruple, now it looks likely they'll finish this season with just the Carabao Cup, that's it," Yorke said.

"It's crazy how football can change in a short amount of time. It's similar to Arsenal, everyone was saying they've learned from last season and won't crack under pressure, but look at them now.

“The season is not over yet, but just the Carabao Cup in Jurgen Klopp's farewell season is a disaster. A month ago, they were top of the league and winning games in the last minute, so you thought they had that tenacious attitude that could win you the league.

"It shows you how everything can flip on your head in football."
