Born in 1996 in London, England, he turned professional in 2016 after an amateur career in Australia, and gained a stong reputation for dominant displays in the ring.

Benn was previously the WBA Continental (Europe) welterweight title holder, and mounted numerous defences between taking the belt in 2018, and up to 2022.

Statement victories included a first-round knockout against Samuel Vargas in 2021, followed by a second-round stoppage against Chris van Heerden a year later.

However, after Benn returned an adverse finding, the bout was pulled, and was only agreed again earlier this year, with both fighters having developed a bitter rivalry.
