UFC Mexico City: Brandon Moreno outstrikes, bests Steve Erceg on scorecards

The UFC hosted an international card in Mexico City for its latest Fight Night event. Headlining the card was former champion and beloved Mexican fighter Brandon Moreno facing off with Steve Erceg.

Moreno was coming off a unanimous decision win over Amir Albazi in November and looked to prove he's still one of the most dangerous men in the division. He did just that dominating Erceg (49-46) through five rounds.

"I've gone through so much to be here. I know how hard it is for so many of you to be here, to get a ticket, this is all for you," Moreno tearfully said after the fight.

Moreno aked Hunter Campbell to fight on the UFC Noche card in September of this year.

Erceg has dopped his last three appearances (Kai Kara-France and Alexandre Pantoja before Moreno). Another loss pushes him further from a chance at another try for the title.

"Obviously it wasn't enough, I needed more volume, but I went five rounds," Erceg told Daniel Cormier after the fight.
