Australia: AFC Asian Cup: 2015

Biggest wins

Australia defeats South Korea 2-1 (a.e.t.) to win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup

Australia spent years dominating Oceania, but a switch to the Asian confederation provided more competition across the board for the Socceroos' programs.

While it is more challenging to play in Asia, it's also more rewarding, and the Aussies learned that first-hand in front of 76,385 in Sydney for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup final.

A goal at the stroke of halftime for Australia was negated in second-half stoppage when Son Heung-min struck to level the match and send it to extra time. However, the Aussies were not to be denied on home soil, and James Troisi played the part of hero as he scored the winning goal in the 105th minute, securing Australia's first (and so far only) Asian Cup title.
