Battle of the Giants: Johnny Eblen vs. Fabian Edwards keys to victory

Battle of the Giants will feature three title fights on Saturday, all live on DAZN Pay-Per-View. The main event is Francis Ngannou vs. Renan Ferreira for the heavyweight superfight belt, the co-main event features the women's featherweight superfight title and the third title is a middleweight bout between Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards.

This fight is a rematch of their Bellator 299 match-up in September 2023. In that fight, Eblen defeated Edwards via a third-round knockout. Edwards bounced back with a win over Aaron Jeffery at the Bellator Championship series in Belfast in March and Eblen won the PFL vs. Bellator super fight title after defeating Impa Kasanganay in February.

Now they will run it back on the biggest card of the year.

Johnny Eblen's keys to victory

Repeat history

Eblen's already defeated Edwards once before and realistically just needs to follow the same game plan to do it again.

Make him lose focus

If Eblen can fluster Edwards or make him mad, he could capitalize on Edwards being distracted and end the fight quickly. Edwards seems to be fighting with emotion in their first fight and Eblen could try to bring that out of him again.

Fabian Edwards' keys to victory

Learn from his mistakes

Edwards needs to take a hard look at their first fight, dissect what went wrong and fix it. Eblen may come in a different fighter but probably not by much. It's only been a year since they last fought so with the right reflection, he could make some much-needed adjustments.

Stay composed

Edwards seemed to fight with something on his mind the first time around. That was evident by the post-fight squabble between Eblen and Edwards' brother, UFC champion Leon Edwards. He needs to release whatever that was and focus on the fight, not on whatever it is that bothers him about Eblen.
