What was Jack Draper's route to the 2024 US Open semi-finals? Opponents, results and more

Jack Draper has reached the semi-finals of the 2024 US Open following his victory over Alex de Minaur, making history in the process.

The 22-year-old is the first Briton to reach the last four of the men's singles draw at Flushing Meadows since Andy Murray in 2012, and has done so without dropping a set.

Throughout the past fortnight, Draper has delivered some of the best tennis of his career, and will be rewarded with a semi-final clash against world number one Jannik Sinner.

Here's how he has made his way through the competition so far to book his place in the latter stages and move one match away from the final.

First Round - Zhang Zhizhen (6-3 6-0 4-0 walkover)

Draper began his US Open journey against the Chinese contender, fresh off a silver medal in mixed doubles alongside Wang Xinyu at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Briton made short work of him however, taking the first set 6-3 and the second 6-0 before securing a walkover after Zhang retired midway through the third set at 4-0 down.

Second Round - Facundo Díaz Acosta (6-4 6-2 6-2)

It took only slightly longer for Draper to complete his first full match in Flushing Meadows, as he served up another straight sets victory, this time against the Argentine.

Díaz Acosta enjoyed a bright start this season, winning the Argentina Open on home turf, but was unable to keep up with the Briton as he swept him aside comfortably.

Third Round - Botic van de Zandschulp (6-3 6-4 6-2)

Hopes were high for this to be a closer contest, as Draper took on the Dutchman who had stunned a pre-tournament favourite in Carlos Alcaraz in the second round.

In the event however, Van de Zandschlup looked as if he had spent his energy to see off the Spaniard, and the Briton once again delivered a fine performance to advance.

Last-16 - Tomas Machac (6-3 6-1 6-2)

Draper had extra incentive against the Czech star when the pair met in the fourth round, having lost both of his previous encounters against him inside the past year.

But despite having reached a first singles final at the Geneva Open in May, and a mixed doubles gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, Machac crumpled to the Briton.

Quarter-Finals - Alex de Minaur (6-3 7-5 6-2)

Facing off with a seeded opponent for the first time during his run, Draper knew he would have a taut clash on his hands, and so it proved, even as he took the first set 6-3.

De Minaur crucially lost his serve twice in the second set as he pressed the Briton however, allowing him to edge him 7-5 before wrapping up the last set in just 32 minutes.

Semi-Finals - Jannik Sinner (5-7 6-7 2-6)

Taking on the number one seed in Italy's Jannik Sinner, Draper was unable to maintain his impressive form.

Fighting sickness as well as his opponent, Draper was eventually beaten in straight sets despite putting up a brilliant effort.
