Liverpool legend impressed by the club's capture of Federico Chiesa
Published: Sep 13, 2024Liverpool head back from the international break with the possibility of fielding their latest arrival against Nottingham Forest.
The Reds pulled off what many have seen as the bargain of the transfer window with the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus, for just £10 million.
The Italian could be in line to make his debut for Arne Slot's men, and talking exclusively to DAZN, thanks to Free Bets, former defender Mark Lawrenson can't wait to see what impact the signing will make at Anfield.
He said: "In today's market, it's like two and six, isn't it? In old money. So, I mean, there's nothing they can't lose. "I know he's a bit injury-prone, but on his day, he is a proper player. So they've got yet another attacking player. I mean, they've got an embarrassment of riches, but also, because of the season, it's so long, and because of so many games, it's a great position to be in.
"I think it's clever. And I cannot believe that a lot of other teams never thought they'd dip in and get him. He was only about 10 million up front, wasn't he? Which, as you know, and I do, is nothing today." Watch Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga live September 14 on DAZN (excluding Mexico, Latin America and China). Click here for details.
