Eddie Hearn is 'worried' for Darren Till ahead of X-Series showdown with Tommy Fury

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed some concerns for Darren Till ahead of his fight with Tommy Fury. 

Till and Fury are set to go head-to-head live on January 18 at Manchester's Co-Op Live in a fight which will be broadcast live on DAZN. 

For Fury, this will be his first fight in over a year after beating KSI in October 2023, and he will be coming up against an opponent who is better known for his exploits inside the UFC's Octagon.

Appearing on the Ariel and Ade show, Hearn spoke about how this matchup makes sense whilst also exposing a potential flaw in Till come fight night. 

"Commercially it’s an interesting matchup, Tommy Fury is a big name, Darren Till’s a great personality," Hearn said.

"You’ve got a guy who is not good enough to be a professional boxer at championship level against a UFC fighter who has the boxing fundamentals.

"In respect of the matchup, I think it’s quite an even matchup, I do worry about Darren keeping his composure in the ring if things don’t go his way."

This matchup against Fury will come just six months after Till made his boxing debut against Mohammad Mutie, and it's one which he won by knockout in the second round.
